Student Approach to Assignment

Through this assignment I was able to reflect on how I have changed and developed as a student nurse in my time with ODU School of Nursing. I had not given this much thought since I did the original assignment (not included) nearly two years ago and created my vision board. I also had the opportunity to evaluate different beliefs I had about the roles of nurses and gain a better understanding of any unconscious bias I may have had. This assignment has allowed me to more thoroughly develop who I am as a nurse and the direction I want to continue with in my future career.

 

Reason for Inclusion of the Assignment in the Portfolio

 Inclusion of this assignment in my portfolio allows the reader to see how I have grown and developed as a person and is a good example of my ability for self-reflection. I hope that by reading this reflection and sharing my definition of nursing it was help the reader to better know who I am as a person and nurse, and what values are important to me.
